No Sketchbook Friday 7|52  e no Studio Vlog #5 mostrei os sketchbooks que estou a usar no momento.
O da fotografia de cima é o Talens Art Creation A5 que estou a usar para fazer desenhos gestuais e de estudo, mas que esta semana quis aproveitar para experimentar as aguarelas líquidas que comprei na semana anterior, e qual não foi a minha surpresa quando me apercebi que este diário gráfico aguenta muito bem esta tinta. Parece-me que irei usar mais vezes estas aguarelas nos meus desenhos gestuais!

In the  Sketchbook Friday 7|52  post and Studio Vlog #5 I shared my current sketchbooks.
The one I used above is the A5 Talens Art Creation that I'm using for gesture drawing and studies, but this week I wanted to try the liquid watercolors that I recently purchased, and I was pleasantly surprised how the paper hold it well. I will be using these watercolors more times in this sketchbook!

Yesterday I shared on Instagram that I had new drawing supplies to share with you.

Os marcadores Copic são marcadores à base de álcool. Têm duas pontas - uma com ponta pincel e outra com uma ponta do género dos marcadores de fluorescentes. São marcadores recarregáveis. As pontas também são substituíveis.
Existem 358 cores diferentes e quatro gamas de marcadores - Sketch (os que existem disponíveis em todas as cores) Wide, Copic e Ciao (estes têm uma carga com menos tinta, são mais baratos e são os que tenho). Os marcadores Copic Ciao são considerados a gama de estudante.
Apesar de nunca ter experimentado as outras gamas, para mim os Ciao são muito confortáveis de usar, tanto no tamanho como na forma. Eu tenho mãos pequenas e marcadores muito altos ou largos por vezes tornam-se desconfortáveis de usar.

Copic markers are alcohol based markers. They are double felt tip - one is a brush tip and the other a medium broad tip.
They are refillable marker, this means you can by ink to fill the marker when it's running out of ink. You can also purchase felt tips and replace the ruined ones.
There are 358 different colours and in four different markers - Sketch (the ones you can get in all colours), Wide, Copic and the Ciao (which have less ink, are cheaper and are the ones that I have).
Ciao Copic Markers are also considered to be the student version.
Although I never tried the other versions, the Ciao are very comfortable in size and shape. I have small hands and sometimes very high and broad markers (pens, pencils etc) are not comfortable to work with.

Today I thought I would share some tools that I have been using in my drawings and illustrations. If this is something that interest you keep reading...

Last week (before I got sick and barely leave the house) I got some acrylic paints.
These are really tiny ink containers (20g) - below you can see the colours that I fell in love with. I also choose colours that could work with the acrylics that I already own.
On next night I thought it was time to try them and that was what I came up with.

Conclusion - it's been awhile since I paint with acrylics and watercolours, it's easier to use them when you use them regularly. Practice makes you know the medium that your using. For sure it's something to keep using.

I've just got a few new brush pens in the mail, and I wanted to share them with you!

In the studio I keep most of the materials more related with Nuts for Paper business. But at my home office I like to keep some essential art supplies that often I carry around when I need them. Here's a sneak peak of it.

1) Embroidery line in dirty white for Nuts for Paper Notebooks
2) Paper Tissues - I always have a few packs in hand - not just because I have sinusitis but also I might need to wipe something clean.
3) Two small turquoise baskets with random things - tape, baker's twine, jewellery, buttons, ipod, telephone charger and memory disks.
4) Cubic glass jar with all the cables I might need. (Although most of the times there is always a few cables scattered around the desk).
5) I Love NY mug (it was a gift from my father brought from the NY airport) in this mug I keep my blue and purple shades of Copic Ciao markers.
6) Red Mug (Giant MUG) it's where I keep the rest of my Copic Ciao markers. Initially I wanted to separate the warm colours from the cold ones, but none of them are enough (yet) to fill these giant mugs,
7) Glass Cube filled with (almost) all my black and grey markers from various brands. It's also where I keep white pens and metallic markers. I also store here some of the brush pens (in grey and black)
8) Blue Mug - it's the miscellaneous mug - from number 2 pencils, to pens and Posca markers, to scissors, x-acto knife and the colour brush pens.
9) Wood piece from Woodography (they were my neighbours in the last Feira das Almas, and I couldn't resist this strange photo).
10) Bordallo Pinheiro Nenufar ceramic piece in blue. It's where I keep my pencil sharpeners, rubbers and USB pens.
11) My watch. Whenever I'm working I always take my watch.
